Thanksgiving Day Parade live stream: Time, TV schedule, and how to watch Macy’s celebration onlineBy The 2018 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade turns 92 on Thursday when marching bands, musicians, balloons, and Santa Claus grace the streets of New York City with one of the iconic events of the fall calendar, beginning 9 a.m. ET on Thanksgiving morning.

The parade has been aired on NBC since 1954, with this year’s broadcast being the 90th time its aired. Only two years haven’t been shown on TV, 1940 and 1941 after networks decided not to air the parade following an experimental broadcast in 1939. Now it’s estimated that over 44 million people watch the parade each year in preparation for their day full of sports, food and dodging problematic family members.

Bundle up if you plan to be attending the parade in person, because forecasts indicate a frigid morning in New York City with temperatures in the low-20s in the morning, paired with winds that could make it feel like it’s in the single-digits.

This year marks the first time an anime character will be depicted as a parade balloon, with Goku being a part of the show to promote the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie. Goku makes his debut alongside the cast of The Christmas Chronicles, a Netflix-produced holiday series.
